Workshop Dates - Pricing - Workshop Emphasis - A word from Jena Marcovicci
TAI CHI, YOGA, MUSIC & DANCE
with Jena Marcovicci Ph.D
Played as a competitive sport or just as an active way to exercise, tennis is an exhilarating game  ... naturally rhythmic and graceful. Yet, many get caught up in the frustrating cycle of winning or losing and in the drive to improve skills, lose sight of the joy of playing. This workshop is tailored for the absolute beginner and expert alike, who want to reconnect with the magic and fun of the sport while improving their competitive skills.

Drawing on his extensive background as a professional touring player and sports psychologist, Dr. Marcoviccl's participants turn inward, away from the outer score and become present in the moment. This is the pilgrimage, letting go of the baggage and being in the moment. In the short span of a weekend, participants become aware of how they sabotage their performance and then how to change that behavior.

The setting for this workshop is in the heart of the Berkshires. You'll explore your tennis in simplicity, seclusion and serenity in a rustic natural environment with new accommodations. See you there...

"Tennis is an exhilarating game, whether played competitively or just for exercise. The thing is, it's not an easy game to learn. To sustain interest, it has to be fun and playful, yet so many people get caught in the cycle of winning and losing (result oriented instead of process oriented). To restore the joy of the game and break through negative patterns that hold you back, the Dance of Tennis Workshop is the workshop to experience.
At the Dance of Tennis Center, you put the mind aside and get into the innate organic rhythms of the body. Hips and racquet move together --- coiling and uncoiling into the ball. Each stroke is a rhythmic response creating a rhythmic flow. The more you trust your rhythmic body, the more you let go of the mind. The opponent becomes your partner and each stroke is a rhythmical experiment. The outer challenge is to maximize performance while the inner challenge is to understand there is no such thing as failure. Each experience gives you feedback. Each shot is an opportunity to go beyond our conditioned responses. When we understand this clearly we let go of our fight or flight mechanisms and settle into the joy of playing."
